Also give them a blast with a pressure washer first as it's surprising how much carbon that removes.

yeah my Bavarian soot chucker has clean pipes all of the time! The 35 was always being cleaned.

It's the bane of my life, since I ditched the cat it's horrendous trying to keep them clean
