Heard different things about dial swaps on a mk4 golf. Is it just plug and play?

If you mean changing the clocks...then no you need to get them coded in and you cannot do it with vagcom.

only certain clocks work depending on the clocks you currently have, iirc you can swap to a better set of clocks i.e. immo2 clock - immo3 clocks, but not to a worse set of clocks i.e. immo3 clcoks -immo2 clocks cannot be done.

theres a thread in the maintenance section on them sorry thread was actually on ukmkivs

as said you will need them coding though.

list of forum vagcom owners, have a search see if anyone is local to you and drop them a pm stating you will give them a few beer tokens for there time and im sure someone will help. if not, garage job it is, or try get a hookie copy of vagcom from somewhere and buy vagcom light (buy it for the lead, you cannot code clocks with vagcom light iirc, and saves you buying a cheep lead and it not working)
