Rear caliper rebuild kit
« on: 14 January 2014, 17:21 »
Does anyone make or sell these? My handbrake keeps sticking on (it's not the cables) and i'm getting bloody fed up of taking the wheel off at the side of the road to sort it out.
I know that MK4 calipers are a worthy upgrade but it's not an expense I can justify at the moment, what with the price of the conversion hoses etc.

I do a seal kit for the rear calipers (kit for both sides £30 with grease for the sliders (free postage)) but I would check the handbrake mech first and also the handbrake cables as both also cause seizure issues.

Does the handbrake mech not include a seal?

Not that I can see, My kit has items 12 & 13 and grease for the sliders from the pic below (I have checked another brand and they are also the same)

Ford use the same type of caliper except it's much better.
Maybe boney can find it
I had them on my last golf when the vw bits seized and we matched them up to some my dad had.
They had weights on a hanging bracket but Everything else was the same save the ford logo in the casting

On every MK3 I've seen up on a ramp. The rear caliper has the ford logo stamped on it.
