http://www.bmcairfilters.com/car-filters/fb154-06_d171_1.aspxI have this size air filter fitted to my car same as a 156 GTA 3.2V6 i get discount at work and the hole in the bonnet i had this done on my civic and it made a difference but i didn't have a air feed just an open cone filter near the hole and the difference it made was huge.
I am looking for opinions i know every body says standard air box is best but that wasn't tested against every air filter out there so cant really say that it is the best option, all depends on the car itself and what sort of cold air feed and many other factors.
A slit in the bonnet will help the car breath easier at higher speeds as it will force air in. I wont be doing a air tight air feed it will be gapped for the air to flow in the correct direction toward the BMC CDA not directly into it i have been looking at many ideas so i don't flood my engine on a rainy day.
But as i say looking for opinions not just people butting in from other threads pretending they know what there talking about.
I haven't yet seen a thread with the test of a CDA or many other air filter manufacturers against the standard box so yes that test that was done, a standard box was better on that car on that dyno on that day. We all know dyno readings can be different every time.
