Whichever way it looks like I am the exception rather than the rule!

Maybe not - seems that most people getting their cars early are GTI owners, maybe it's still slow on the GTD front.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Did a deal on a stock GTD on 3rd January, collected 11th January. Got colour and spec. required (almost). Dealer had been shopping around for me for a few weeks, came up with another 2 options but not to my taste. Was NEVER going to wait for a factory order.

I've just been told my car is going to be BW7, a lot earlier than June! That means I could get the car in March. This is going to wind my wife up as she's had an Evoque on order since November and her car isn't due to be built until 20th March :D

Have to be honest here. For a LONG time I was very much wanting an Evoque. But I am soooooo pleased I changed my mind and went for the VW Golf GTi. I have a hunch your wife will fall in love with yours and not be quite so impressed with hers when it finally arrives. AND they are REALLY common these days. It might be better in the snow, but how often does it snow??? Plus it ain't got the performance!!!!
