loss of power, cutting out high idle and miss fire
« on: 13 January 2014, 11:57 »
so driving last night and the car started playing up, it was stuttering when asked to acelerate and it cut out twice and wouldnt start i got it to start by unplugging the injectors and cranking it till the fuel had cleared from the bores, plugged it back in and it hessitated but it did start. when idleing and i rev it it takes quite a while to come back down to idle but if i unplug the isv or the blu temp sender the revs return to idle quickly like they should. any one help?

its an 8v digifant

Has the blue sensor been replaced?  If not then do so with a very good quality one preferably from VW.

the temp Sender is fairly new. I'm thinking along the lines of the throttle switches because when I hold the revs and press the wot the revs drop slightly ambit don't return untill I let it go.

Check the little wire on the throttle switch and the vacuum lines.  Clean the ISCV out as swell along with the earth points.

Back to square 1 :(

I started the car to warm it up this morning and it started fine, idle was perfect and it reved completly fine. i went back inside and every so often i could hear the revs go up and down for a few seconds, happened twice over about 20minutes. when i got in the car and drove to work all felt great as it should pulled well didnt stutter or miss untill i was sitting at a set of traffic lights, the idle begain to die and it was missfireing when i tried to pull away at low revs it almost stalled and when i dipped the clutch to rev it, it reved perfectly but i wheelspinned like a B**** then it was fine again all the way to work. last night it was running badly and i suspected it was because of the rain so i changed the coil, the dizzy cap the rotor arm and the HT leads, it didnt do it again last night, but the rain had stopped.............
and it was fog this morning.
