Agree with above. Although recently i have been using Autoglym's spray on tyre shine for ease of application.

Hooorahh! The sun came out this morning. Perfect window for the GTi's clean of it's life!

Unfortunatley it just started raining just when it was finished. The detailer was Further Reflections, Matt Netherwood, 07857 235722 www.further-reflections.co.uk - See Protection exterior & interior for what he did. Very very pleased with the results. He'd done the sun gun test and queried if I'd asked the dealership not to touch the paintwork. He couldn't find any swirls. I've only done 500 miles so far, but he did fetch off quite a lot of tar from the wheel arches. Excuse the brake discs, I haven't moved it for a couple of days.

I really like the silver. I have never been a fan of silver cars but it looks great on the GTI and probably quite rare.

What do you mean you've not driven it for a few days? I'd be having serious withdrawal symptoms.

Gave my car it's first clean yesterday.
First off, Snowfoamed with Valet Pro PH Neutral
Sprayed whole car with Auto Finesse Iron Out (Surprised, Very little contamination)
Washed with Autoglym shampoo and conditioner
Dried with a large Microfibre towel
Then applied one coat each of:
Jeffs Werkstat Prime
Jeffs Werkstat Jett
Jeffs Werkstat Gloss
Dressed the tyres wit Meguiars Endurance Gel
Was going to take wheels off to put a coat of Poorboys Wheel Sealant but ran out of time.
Here's the results

The reflex silver looks very smart- I am beginning to regret changing my order to Carbon Grey. It seems to accentuate the line of the wheel arches.

Here's mine:

I detailed the car when new and it's fully protected with ceramic sealants on the wheels/bumpers, and waxed with a variety of my own blend, and quite rare waxes. Completely effortless to clean! Here is the link to the full write up I did if anyone is interested...

Hi agreen7, You won't regret changing it to Carbon Grey. I've seen a few and they look awesome in that colour. Make the red strip really stand out. I plumped for silver because it stays looking cleaner for longer and it doesn't stand out from the crowd too much.

Hi Ginagee, I had a grey one on demo and when clean it did look very good, especially when the sun caught it - it has a certain menace about it. I was keen on Silver for a similar reason as I had never seen one at a dealer or on the road only in some low res pictures. Maybe Silver of the next one as I think I am hooked!
