Best wind noise reduction?
« on: 09 January 2014, 23:51 »
Was driving along today, with a big grin on my face (as I normally do when I'm in the car), and then noticed wind noise is a lot worse than it was a few months ago, its at the point where I can't even enjoy  the growl of the exhaust when I put my foot down. So, time to replace the seals. Windows, doors, or both? What's more likely cause? I appreciate it's a 23 year old car, just looking to tone it down. Also best place to get the seals?
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

Have you changed the tyres lately?
Over the years I notice certain brand tyres cause more noises?

Sounds crazy but you need a mate in the car with a stethoscope and the end pulled off, then whilst driving get him/her to find the air leaks with that. It'll amplify the leaks to hopefulyl pin point where the noise is coming in.

That's what i'd do if i could be arsed, but im not, so.... music

Doors shut tight and flush? If not then adjust via B pillar stricker pin.
