Getting my mrs a new captur.
Very good value as they're well spec'd with sat nav cruise control and climate etc. also have 4yr warranty and servicing and RAC cover.
Don't need a golf GTI for taking babies to play school and sainsburys and I rarely drive it.
I've got my toy (clio 200) which I choose to drive over the golf if I go for a blast out so might as well get something more suitable for my wife
I'm also buying an S2 elise but keeping my clio so if I have a clio200 an elise and a Gti its a bit much so 2 toys and a shopping trolley is the way to go.
Just curious why you don't perceive a 5 door Golf as a good everyday shopping car, surely they are perfect for this.
As I said it is a great all rounder but there are better shopping trolleys out there and better hot hatches out there.
As I said I don't need one car to do everything. I can have 2 or more cars for specific duties, so a jack of all trades is a compromise.
I enjoy my clio way more than my Gti and my mrs doesnt need a 250bhp car which draws attention and has to worry about leaving in supermarkets, worry about kerbs and I feel the need to keep immaculate.
A runaround fits the bill better than a golf Gti which we are precious over.
Plus the golf is out if warranty in October and the thought if running one of these without a warranty is frightening - as is the finance cost if I chose to keep I after the term is finished.
I will miss the Gti but its run its course for me and will be glad of a change. The problem is I bought the wrong car in the first place for what I want.
