Gti Exhaust - Is mine standard?

I've recently put down a deposit on a mk5 gti, and it occured to me today that when i checked out the exhaust, it said something like 'powerflow' etched into he tailpipes.  Is this likely to be a standard exhaust, or replacement?  It sounded nice either way

Standard exhaust has no markings on the tips.

hmm, either the stock has been uprated then, or its just been replaced with a non-oem replacement i guess.

It's aftermarket, now you need determine if the down pipe has been changed .

I would consider contacting where you bought the car from to let them know it has aftermarket equipment on, it's possibly mapped too.

Does it have a warranty and was it advertised as modified?

Yeah power flow is an exhaust company, google them. My dad's got one on his Escort GTI sounds sh!t on there loads of drone on the motorway at 4,000

Modifications could also have insurance implications. It may well have a non standard exhaust and have been remapped. You could buy it without knowing this, but if the worse happens and you have a car with un-decleared mods, ignorance will not carry any weight at all.

Thanks for the input guys, i'll press the dealer to find out more, and maybe contact the previous owner for more info.  Won't be too disappointed if its got a few uprated bits, but of course there maybe insurance implications.  Not planning on lying to the insurance company, so obviously id declare anything i find.

Well not saying the car isn't ok but lets say it's mapped and a new clutch and flywheel is required...normally you would consider this to be wear and tear but since it is potentially operating out of stock performance parameters, should you have to bear the cost?

It might be that it's just a cat-back but you should clarify this with the Dealer.
