This should help as MK2 lights are like tea lights, same principle for Mk3 and most other cars :wink:

Use a good set of bulbs and switching relay set up gives you proper lights and no attention from the fuzz

As stated above, decent bulbs and a relayed feed is sufficient.  Its all ive ever done to the mk3's ive owned.

Yeh I have 55 watts in they look good are are better than the HIDS I had fitted.

Replaced the H7 bulbs in my Passat last week with Halfords Super Brilliance ones (BOGOF so why not).  Made quite a significant difference to the low beam.  Good bulbs do make a big difference!

+1 this is what i use, just as good as the more expensive brands but cheeper
