Amending an order ?

Does anyone have any real world experience of how far into an order it can be amended?

I am off to see my local dealer and if the figures are right will be leaving put an order in.  However, I am still not completely sure on the options list and may want to adjust a couple of things.

Discuss it with your dealer but if it's small things like keyless or rear camera then you should be ok right up to when your BW is confirmed, if it's something like DSG or sunroof then don't leave it too late! I'd say under "normal" circumstaces you easily have 6 weeks or so to make changes.

Cheers, those are exactly the things I am thinking - the keyless and camera.

I have a Focus TitaniumX at the moment, which has all options on it.  Headlight, lane assist, park assist, keyless etc etc etc.

It is just a pain deciding what I can and cant live with out.

Hi Karlark, I added the Performance Pack 5 weeks after ordering with no trouble. Once Build Week is confirmed you can no longer make changes. For me this was about 1.5 months after ordering, but some orders go through much quicker than others. Agree, it's really hard choosing what to add!!!

Yep, I have specced the Keyless on the quote for the Golf.

  Two of the things I found pretty hopeless on the Focus is the blind spot LED warnings in the mirrors (Blis)that someone is in the blind spot, work perfectly when a car is there, but then also randomly light when nothing is there - especially on Country roads and hedgerows etc.

The other is the Headlight assist, well maybe not hopeless but, I do find it can be a little slow dimming when behind someone, so giving themm a full blast of Xenons  - Im sure the Golf version may be better though

About a week before the tracker shows your BW is confirmed, it'll be confirmed at the factory, but only your dealer will know at that point.

I had a first-hand change cock-up with mine and my dad's GTDs. I ordered DBP Manual GTD, my dad ordered a TR DSG GTD about a week later. About a week after my dad placed his order, I had a change of heart about colour and opted to change for TR. Instead of my order changing from DBP to TR, they changed my dad's TR order to DBP. We hadn't realised for a few weeks, then my dad decided he might like DBP for nowt.  When they finally changed my order to TR after I said the tracker wasn't reflecting my change, a whole month later and realised their mistake, it was too late to change my dad's back. The car was locked out for changes a week before the tracker showed BW confirmed and built 5 weeks later. His order had leapfrogged mine.

High beam assist on the Golf so far has worked a treat with no complaints from other motorists
Keyless is so cool, just open and go.

I had keyless on the GTI, it's nice to have the push button to start and the convenience of not using the key, however a couple of things i didn't like were, when it came to washing the car (and i wash my car a lot!) i had to either get in the car or put the key in the car to 'park' the windscreen wipers and then put the key in the house other wise when washing as soon as you touch the handle the car would lock and the mirrors fold in!! 

Also, whats the point of having leaving home lights with keyless if i still need to get the key out?? Was nice but not perfect, so i'm sticking with the good old key which is very nice anyway, plus i could do with the £350 for fuel!!!

Reverse camera on the other hand is well worth what they ask for it.
