brown and white plugs look similar, not sure if they are or if one has more pins.
however if you look at the audi one theres a plug next to it. if you look at the golf one, I canot see that type of plug anywhere, unsure what that plugs for and whether it will affect the useability.
(there might be one somewhere on the golf one and I might just be being blind
)
could always try find a cheep one on ebay/scrap yard, maybe one with a broken screen that no one wants and is willing to give you for postage costs and just have a play around.
