The only thing that worries me is gapping the rings, although after speaking with a few people who have far more knowledge than Ill ever have, they say quite often they don't need gapping due to the bores being worn.

Add riffel drilling to that aswell ($100) and do you get custom charges in NI? They about the £500 mark from the uk.

£500 import duty?!

Car parts have an import duty rate of 2.7% and VAT of 20%, meaning that you'll pay a little over £80 in import charges.

Sorry i meant you can pick them up in the UK for £500 mark. Lol

Il put my hands up and say i dont know jack shizzle about rifle drilling. Could someone tell me what that is for and what are the benefits of it?
As said by someone else, people are shouting about riffle drilling and also read that its best to riffle drill them.

Rifle drilling is where they drill a hole up the rod from the big end to the small end where the wrist pin sits. Allows a pressurized oil feed to the wrist pin which lubricates and cools it more effectively other than just being splash lubricated by the oil squirter at the bottom of a stroke. Most people recommend this on daily drivers as the oil squirters dont work amazingly well at low oil pressures, so all that low rpm driving round town will cause wear. If you dont go for rifle drilling make sure you buy quality bearings. And a quick one on piston rings, I'd change mine if I was doing this, I'd also re hone the bores to ensure they bed in correctly. Found a pretty extensive video goide on youtube a while ago on how to do all this. Here's part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPYIUylUW9I

Just to stir it up a little, we're stocking ZRP H-Beam rods, I can also get PEC rods that are quite a bit cheaper, tend to work out around £800 with a Wossner piston kit but my engineers get these in for my G60 builds, not looked into it for a 1.8T yet but drop me a PM if interested. I'm sure they'll be able to just get a rod kit.

Anyway, here's the ZRP's
