Anyone he staines fancy helping me rebuild?

Might think about pulling the 1.8t 150 lump out and skimming the head and putting a ko3s turbo on, new clutch and bits and pieces but I'll need help so happy to pay my way

Why do you want to skim the head? Has the head gasket gone? Also if you need a k03s I have a good one for sale.

Yeah I think it has, this week it started misfiring on start up and after about 10 mins of driving goes into limp mode, also there is a sweet smell coming from the exhaust, temp goes just over half but never more and I can't see any water in the oil and it's not losing water or oil so I'm not sure. What do you want for the spoolie?

The mis fire could be anything, CTS, maf or something else. Don't jump to conclusions as it will cost you dearly. Head gaskets are quite rare on these. I think you should have the car checked over properly. It looks really tidy. Before you start buying random parts for it take it for a health check. Will cost about £60 and save you buying parts you don't need. As for the turbo the very best I can do is £150 collected from north London or £165 posted.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply, the problem is that I recently reversed into a pillar and wrote the car off, so idea is to pull it out anyway.
I live in staines how far is that from you? And I'm interested the turbo, will it need servicing before fitting?

Thanks

AGU misfire will be ignition amp 99% of the time fella and won't show fault codes as the ecu can't read past it but the misfire will be constant at all rpm's

GTI is not a trim level. It is a lifestyle.
1999 1.8t AGU, KO3s, forge 007p, silicone tip and charge pipe, oil catch can, SS turbo back system, pipercross CAI, g60/vr6 clutch, 40mm apex springs, drilled and grooved discs, stage 2 remap.

I'm quite far, Up the other end of town. I live in Islington North London.

The turbo is fine, No smoke or boost issues. Pulls strong, Only being removed as the car is going k04
