« on: 29 December 2013, 16:55 »
So last night my car shat its pants on the m25 had it recovered and taken home. The engine had covered 163000 in its life so I'm just going to replace the engine with another agu. While ive been looking into another agu engine ive been reading that some people are saying they have forged pistons and crank is this true as I was thinking of changing the pistons and rods while the engine is out ? any help would great. thanks jake.

I believe off the top of my head if the AGU is the 180bhp anniversary model engine then yes they have forged pistons and crank. however the rods aren't if you arent planning to go for power at all then there's probably not much point but if your aiming to run more power get some forged rods for peice of mind.

I'm sure some mk4 guru will pop up if im wrong

Wouldnt even say the AGU had forged internals.

Lets face it.

Pistons you dont have to worry about on a mk4
Crank is good for silly power standard.
Rods  - these are your weak point
