Golf ABT Sportline
« on: 29 December 2013, 11:59 »
Hi Everyone.....
Ive just come back onto the VW seen, by purchasing a mk4 Golf GTI T 150 on a 2002 reg. But im finding out that the car has been to a company called ABT Sportline. The car itself feels VERY much more responsive than my old GtI, and on closer inspection it has a front mounted intercooler. The other thing im noticing is the MPG which doesnt seem to go over 22mpg on a average run when I drive normal.....
Can anyone shade any light on what ABT might have done to this car. Or what to look for under the bonnet as it all looks the same without removing the engine cover.....
Cheers

Have you checked your black book for history and receipts.
Sounds like the ecu has been re-mapped.
(nice 1)

Thanks for the info guys....It just feels abit more to it than just a remap.....Thats why I was wondering what ABT do to the cars and is it the norm that the Golf runs around 20mpg

ABT do a whole range of things and 20mpg could be perfectly normal depending on driving style and the type of driving you are doing.
