« on: 27 December 2013, 15:49 »

Yikes, that doesnt look right at all.
I think you will need new replacement discs.
Looks like some stones or something have been stuck between the disc and the rotar and have eaten the disc.  :embarrassed:

Sometimes discs can be scored if the car has been standing for a few days. With the thin film of rust that quickly builds up, scoring can result when the brakes are applied initially but yes, this does look a bit too severe to be caused by that.

Will they not just put that down as "wear and tear"? I'd be interested to hear how you get on!

Only time i've seen such excessive scoring before was where the pad material disbonded from the pad backing and ejected, leaving metal to metal contact - this leads me to believe there is foreign metallic objects in the mix. I'd be complaining to the dealer, but it may result in a dead end.

I am in the fortunate position of it being a company car, but will push the dealer regardless....
