8v GTi exhaust/manifolds

Quick question:

After the cylinder head has been polished and ported do I need to do anything else or will the engine be able to handle all the extra air? Just wondering incase it doesn't release the extra fuel, don't want the engine to over heat! I don't suppose I need to do anyting with the fuel pump/injectors/ECU at all? I hope not 

Too much air and not enough fuel would be a recipe for disaster would it not?

I've not had to do anything with mine dude. I run her on shell nitro and it runs as smooth as you could hope for a 23 year old. My engine temp runs at around 92-94 and around 99-100 on a hard run.

Ah that's really reassuring, cheers dude. I can't wait to get mine back from the workshop and see how much difference it's made! Might be getting upgraded valves too.

its a 1991 8v gti so i think its digifant

 

K jet can over enrich or go lean across the rev range if not set up properly but you can kind of adjust it to be somewhere right (at some point )  after playing around with the engine.
If you had it I would have said check it out any way as it can often hold back performance and mpg.
Until you start really changing things I think digi will be fine, it was a step forward when it came out
