What would be your preferred choice of premium tyres?
« on: 18 December 2013, 17:11 »
So with my GTD coming with Bridgestone's which myself and others have experienced tramping in first but mainly 2nd gear what would be your choice of 18" tyres of a premium range that are better (if there is any in similar price bracket that are better)?

You could sell your tyres on eBay or something and fit them with Michelin Pilot Sports......  these are good tyres as I have used them on quite abit of my cars.
Pirelli are good too but may not last as long due to the softer compound.

You'll not find many things as sticky as Michelin Pilot sports, however with those and Pirelli P Zero tyres you will ultimately not get the longevity you may desire.

Depends what is most important to you, grip or lifespan.

The goodyears are in 18's and they give good grip. I have them on my mk6 and certainly an improvement over the dunlops that came with the car.

have been using michelin pilot sport 3 for ever, at least ever since those pathetic pirellis my gti had from factory lasted for about 15k miles... Michelins got good grip, only problem is their lifespan, which is in the range of 30-40k miles.  I'd love to find a tire with similar grip and longer lifespan
