:sad:Not good news to hear your concerns Mr Savage, having spent over 20 years in the least popular part (aftersales) of the motor trade I can't give definite answers but can offer some advice if accepted. The supplying dealer has the right to a few attempts to effect a repair in relation to the same issue/concern. Now ultimately they are also obliged to do everything reasonably required to resolve the faults. The first thing to maintain is a good relationship with the aftersales/service manager, and just as important is being able to demonstrate the issues you are having. With other manufacturers I have worked with we had the facility to call their technical guys and get advice first hand and also arrange field visits to the dealer where we might have 2 or 3 cars in on a particular day to troubleshoot. What I guess I'm saying is don't give up, keep pushing forwards! Good luck my friend.

My only concern is that it will run over the 6 month wear and tear warranty period and i'll be stuck with the problem myself.

I've got the car booked in at Mansfield VW now and hope they can rectify it. Have to pay £12.50 a day for a hired car though which don't seem right?

If Mansfield can resolve the issues then I guess you will need to re-consider using the local dealership.

If they cannot then you will have to consider rejecting the car.

But don't let it get you down mate, as I have mentioned in another post.... cars are mass produced and lemons do pass VW QC now and again.
Don't let it put you off Volkswagen..... they build over 18,000 cars a day!

I have number 3 also(intermittent noise in reverse normally first thing in the morning) please let me know if you find out what it is,i will take mine in in the new year as its not a major problem just annoying and not what you would expect from a new car.
Golfgti build quality is average at best.

Exactly I'm gonna let them know that if they managed to rectify the issues for me than there will be a £40k Golf R order coming their way in a few years time :)

I'm not put off by VW don't worry. It's just not the ideal first new car experience.
