Service Plan
« on: 14 December 2013, 06:56 »
Guys - for those of you who purchased the 3-year prepaid service plan: -

In the small print on my version it states that brake fluid changes are excluded, which is at odds with VW's latest price list (page 21).   I also asked VWCS the same question some time ago and they confirmed it is included.  Just sent the dealer a question.

Appreciated if you could have a quick look and see if your docs are the same as mine - it's under 1. Definitions - Service.  Thanks.

The service plan should include everything that needs doing for the three year period apart from normal wear and tear items like tyres and wiper blades etc.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

The 3rd annual service on the service plan includes a brake fluid change, after that it is supposedly every 2 years when you're paying for it yourself. Every 2 years is beyond excessive if your system is properly sealed with no leaks and no means for water to get in.

yes - can confirm on that. We have a Polo GTI on a 3 year service plan, and have just had the brake fluid changed as part of the plan. MOT cost however is excluded, not that you MK7 guys need to worry about that just yet!

Had the 3 year plan on my mk 6. The brake fluid was changed on the 3rd service. This was around her 3rd birthday because I do far less than 10k miles annually.

Hi there, due to take delivery of Gti early in new year and I'm looking to add the fixed price service plan.
The car is through drive the deal and coming from Kent but I'll obviously be using a local dealer for the servicing.

Reading the VW website it says the plan can be taken out within 90 days of purchase.

Do you think it would be better sorting it all out at purchase time or waiting and arranging the service plan with the dealer I'm going to be servicing the car with.
I've no doubt they wont be impressed that I didn't buy the car from them but they were given a chance to quote me and wouldn't budge from list price.
Any thoughts from anyone in similar position?
Current,
2021 Audi S3 Vorsprung, Tango Red.
2020 Up Gti, Tungsten silver. (Early buy for daughter...who's 15!!)
Previous,
2019 Mk7.5 Gti PP, Indium Grey.
2016 Mk7 Gtd Carbon grey.
2014 Mk7 Gti, Tornado red.
2006 Mk5 Gti, Reflex silver.     Plus many more.

Be interested to see what happens if like me you do the 30,000 miles before the three years threshold.

I'm pretty sure they won't cover the first brake fluid change at the 3 year point.
Thats why there is an exclusion clause in the small print.

Someone who isn't supplying the car will not discount the service pack just to get your servicing business. Buy it from the supplying dealer and if you're financing you can lump it in on the cost of the car.
