De-Badged GTI Grill... Yey or Ney

So noticed that my bonnet is looking pretty worse for wear in terms of stone chips, and after my detail and using a full range of chemicals to clean the paint these chips have started to rust. I think whatever protectant was on the bare metal has been striped away and they look awful. To make matters worse I put K-Rust on them and it seems to have a left a black blob that won't come off around all the chips.

Anyhoo kind of went into a bit of an essay then so back to the point I'm considering having the bonnet sprayed and saw a picture of a debated GTI and though it looked the nuts, but I can't make my mind up if it's a Yeah looks good for a bit kind of look or not and so wanted to gather peoples opinion.

If you creating a show car then maybe, wouldn't be my choice to do and think a black badge is plenty different enough.
