Finally got 2 new Michelin pilot super sport fitted today. They were on the front wheels that have been swapped with the rears. The part worn Dunlops are going to finish their life on the front and then I will have Super Sports in all the corners.

The guy fitting them raved about them for life and grip, didn't realise those 2 could go hand in hand. Also got a  £50 fuel voucher available till the end of April. Made the total price more bearable !

As quoted in previous posts the rim protection is minimal.

Conti 5's don't offer much rim protection either.  How are your Glendales faring?  Have you managed to avoid kerbing them?  Mine need refurbing  :embarrassed:

So far so good, Ive had a couple of lucky escapes though. I hope i'm not tempting fate...

My car is garaged and I can commute in my wifes Smart 4 days of the week as she is on the train. At work we have a private multi level car park. Amazing thing, all of the enthusiasts or just nice cars park further up the car park on the less packed floors. There seems to be a policy of leaving a empty space between cars to prevent door banging further up, it's kind of weird like a unwritten rule.

My tyre man also does refurb for £60 per wheel. I will trust him that it would be a good job. I would pay extra for him to fit tyres to my rims as he knows the value of nice cars and rims. I never have to worry on that issue.

I think the mild winter helped on the wheels as there didn't seem to be too much salt constantly on the road. He is going to look out for a set of tidy 18s for me from VW or Audi. Stick some winter tyres on and save the Glendale / Michelins for the good times.

My work has a dedicated car park too but the majority don't give a toss about other's (or their own) cars.  They park so close and think nothing of slamming their door into the adjacent car.   The only saving grace is the car park is on a hill and since most people are too lazy to walk all the way to the top, the upper part tends to be emptier and that's where I park.

You're lucky to have a trusted tyre man.

Yeah, I got that from previous posts, but I'd rather purchase a quality tyre on more than rim protection, I see grip dry and wet more important.

I did consider the Goodyear very closely but I chose the michelin in the end. Plus they were cheaper, no brainer in the end.
