ive got scorpion and i cant fault it tbh hun... i would consider a powerflow if it was made with 303grade stainless , and if u do have this done get it made straight through into a large backbox this will be not too noisy and give u best gas flow.

ooo errr.....

pipe choice is all yours... you need a pic doing of the rear of your car and some of our 'photoshop' experts to draft different style pipes on, i dont think you want anything loud, as a cab lookin like yours turns heads with needing to turn em cause of noise!!!

as for the cat, im not sure, if your not to bothered id leave it on and have a cat back system fitted, if you want a few extra horses then take it off, but youll need to fit for mot time pending on the year of your car and wether you have a friendly mot tester!!!, not sure how the cat works on yours, as i thought mk1's were mechanical fuel injection even the cabs uptill when they changed, so wether you have to worry about lamb wotsit sensors or not i dunno???

I went for a Powerflow from down pipe back as I dont have a cat on mine and I can't fault it really, but I did ask them to tone the noise down so that it didnt sound like a nova boy and they did exactly what I asked to be fair and it has a bit of a grunt when I boot it but nothing too stupid. Look at the tail pipes here Dinx, http://www.powerflow.uk.com/newtailpipes.html I went for the plain one Ri63 2 1/2" (first one down), in hindsight I should have gone for the R076 3" (second one down) because this was the one I liked best but I wanted a smaller tailpipe, but I wish I'd have gone 3" now.

Can't wait for all the banter for that last line !

......now officially dubless.

I like the 4th one down of the single pipes best, but have always been a twin pipe kinda person!! My car came with the Sit 89, tho I rather like the ViT 89, so that may go onto the bottom of my long long list of things to buy. Thats a handy link that one!!

I had a mongoose on my Mk2 8v, they did 2 tail designs - upswept dtm (yawn) and a more elegant twin 'tv' shaped 76mm jobber. Looked brilliant. Sounded great up to 10 miles. Anything after that and all you can hear is bhoooooooooarrrrrrrrrrr. After a year the hangers corroded (stainless my a***) and after 2 attempts at a replacement, they sent another design. twin round 1" by the look of it. Total pants. THEN they offered me to go up to Cheshire and have an original design fitted. So i did (remember the sound now...) and it was fine till I sold the car...

Never have another one though. Too much grief. As I just got my Mk3 I think I'll stick to standard or perhaps Jetex. But I can't live with earplugs.......!!

I went for a poerflow on my vr and i cant fault it it sounds great (thought it was a bit quiet at first but as its bedded in it sounds a lot better)
and theres no rattling or banging like on off the shelf pipes i have had on other cars!
mine has an oval pipe but i think round is the way to go ona mk1,
