My mother has the 1.2 TSI in her Fabia, and it's impressive for a 1.2.
Plenty of go...especially when combined with the 7 speed DSG 'box.
She does lots of short runs and I'd be amazed if she was getting less that mid 40s to the gallon.

The car has been used daily for the last 3 years and never missed a beat.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

Got a April '09 1.4 TSI (160 DSG) and have never had any problems with the engine though I have had a few niggles with the DSG box. Use it daily for town driving and average 38mpg but if you stick it into sport mode then that can drop down to around 29-30mpg.

Best I've managed on the motorway is 58mpg doing a steady 60 dropping down to the high 40's when doing 70.

Think it is like any car - you can touch lucky and get a great problem free car or you can get a 'nightmare'.
7GTI PP DSG - no longer
