Black smoke = boost leak

My money is on a popped lower intercooler hose

As for Barry and Bellend; wind your fcuking necks in otherwise the ban button will be used

What about the rattling noise when being revved though?? Could the seals have blown?? From reading on forums turbos can kill engines from sending debris back into the engine?

Thanks for your replies so far, much appreciated..

With a pipe off it can make all sorts of noises. Check the hoses first to see if one has popped. You will need to replace it as the lugs will have worn

You may find it then cures your rattling noise

No probs  keep us updated. Hopefully it was just a pipe

Check your oil level too. If the seals did blow then chances are you lost some oil too

What would u call a fair price for this sort of job? I mean how long should it take? The turbo is exchange and im guessing you can get a reconditioned turbo for about 250ish?
