it's ok to run higher wattage bulbs as long as you have the wiring to handle the extra current draw...

Er... what about if you've got plastic lenses, like in a mk3?

We proved the Stefan Boltzmann distibution today, about 4 pages of crap! I tried to saw my head off using a pencil!
