I guess this is goodbye
« on: 08 December 2013, 19:54 »
Alright fellas. As some of you might know, my gti 180 got written off just over a week ago when my missus got rear ended at a junction. I'm not one to hang about so started looking for another straight away. I went and saw one that turned out not to even be a 180 and all the others were too high miles for me it had other issues. Because I need a car to get to work I decided to start looking for a seat leon instead and found a lovely cupra r 225. It's a good and bad thing because I did love that 180 and had plans for it but sh!t happens and you've gotta go with the flow and do what's gotta he done.... In relation to the car, it's awesome. In pretty sure my 180 was down on power anyway but this is another level. Aside from the power, the grip is amazing. Don't get me wrong, I loved my golf but this feels like a proper sports car rather than a suped up family car. I didn't want to do one of them gay goodbyes but I did want to say thanks for the help I got from you guys, and I did learn a fair share in the small amount of time I was here. I'll still be floating about trying to learn what I can seeing as they are basically the same engine and still hope I can maybe help others one day.

Thanks for all the help

Only difference as far as I know is it's got a k04 turbo but what a difference it makes. With minimal mods it should be pulling over 260bhp after a remap. I'm gonna do other mods though so who knows what power it will be putting out. It's gonna be fun finding out :-)

Induction kit, already got a 007p, decat downpipe, n249 delete assuming that's a good idea on this car, upgrade any hoses that hold it back and anything else my insurer will allow really. Already been told I can't get a FMIC which sucks but will think about that once it's renewal time.

It's early days yet but so far so good. The inside is mint. A bit of wear on the steering wheel but other than that I can't fault it at all
