Well about 2/3 through my second full tank of normal shell fuel, could just be the placebo affect but it does seem to run a little better and my fuel economy deffinately seems to be slightly better, however the hesitation is still there so there is obviously something else wrong (plugs & leads / Maf) but I dont know enough about either to tell, think my best bet being crap with this sort of thing is saving me pennies and when I'm not in debt to the bank I'll pay for a full overhaul from VW to get it sorted as the garage I bought the car at are having non of it and blaming it on me coming from a brand new car to a 5 year old mk4 with 70,000 miles.

bazzer, if you live in northern england. you'll find that shell fuel is refined at the same place as jet fuel. dunno what they do with it after it leaves the refinery but thats up to them.

Really?! That honestly surprises me. But that said, surely they could go through different processes at the same refinery? I remember a Simpsons episode with Duff, Duff Dry and Duff Lite all coming from the same pipe!....

I would only use Optimax also, little bit more pricey but more efficient
