I thought the 35 already had LED number plate lights? I thought they started fitting them to later mk6's.

Jimble, thank god you're on the ball.
To my utter embarrassment, it turns out my car does have LED number plate lights :embarrassed:
In my defence, I never see it lit up at night as I'm always driving it   (btw it's not a 35)

OEM OCDness

Say no more

I bought some after market units and one blew a few weeks back

I've just ordered two OEM ones from my local dealer - will be here Saturday.

If they show a bulb out, I have some resistors I bought from carsystems.pl that I can plug in in-line

Oem ones in earlier cars will eventually trigger a bulb error.  You also cannot turn this off in vagcom vcds sadly even though heres ab option for monitoring. There was a software change on cars with the leds from the factory.
