I don't understand why it isn't, just look at whats changed for motorbikes, if your under 21 (was talks of changing it to 24 I think) your restricted to 33 bhp for the 1st 2 years before having to take another test... why not do that with cars limit people to say a 80bhp car for the 1st 2 years then have to resit your driving test see how many fail 2nd time round.

It has changed now its along the lines of
16 is 50cc
17>19 125cc max 14 bhp I think
19<24 is 46.6BHP or two years experience which ever comes first after 19

And over 24 do as you like

BUT I'm 21 done it in august (changed January) and my licence has no restrictions on it , just says full cat A

So I don't think even the DSA knows what's going on anymore

yea im not 100% sure what it is now I did mine when I was 17 before they even had the 2 part test 5 years ago, I was restricted to 33bhp for 2 years but when I sent my license away after getting cat C, as it was 1 month after my 2 years it now just says A no restriction :D

Driving test doesn't work. Need gradual ones.

Sister passed with flying colours and took 3 fences out the same week.

Where all my moneys went.

Seems a bit stupid those proposals.  Any car can be dangerous, its how you use one and in what manner that can make a 1tonne 1.0 corsa a deadly weapon aswell.

Pleased im 23 now and all these stupid new driver stuff has been brought out after I passed.

Let's be honest it's mentality on the roads which gets people into trouble more than inexperience. If you're inexperienced and driving cautiously you're less likely to be doing any serious mischiefs. It's when you combine that inexperience with cockyness/speed/stupidity that you have problems. There's a reason young male drivers are the highest insurance risk

so all the people who passed their test before 1997 and had c1 entitlement now have to pay to retain it. or they have to pay to finance the mps 11% pay rise? you decide.
