I can see it when I switch the lights on by a wall - like every time I start up in my garage.

The beams do an up and then side to side dance, then a square black area appears in the middle from both lights and links together into one lightless block. Then all goes back to normal.

Perhaps this was too complicated for conversion to RHD??

Yep that's it. So does it remain on full beam and block off an oncoming car when it feels like it? Mine does.

Sorry about your cove Kev...

Can someone with high beam assist post a picture of their rear view mirror as apparantly it's different hardware and not just coding to activate this?

Looking at mine though it has both the light/rain sensor and a camera?
Current - MK7 Golf GTI - Tornado Red, 5 Door, DSG, Performance Pack, Dynamic Chasis Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Discover Navigation, Dynaudio.

On Order - MK7 Golf R - Pearlescent Black, 3 Door, DSG, Vienna Leather, Discover Nav Pro, Rear View Camera, High Beam Assist, Keyless Entry, Dynaudio (Tech Pack)

All gone.

Now;

MK7 Golf R - Lapiz Blue, 5 Door, DSG, Carbon Nappa, Discover Nav Pro.
