loss of power after changing boost pipes
« on: 03 December 2013, 19:54 »
Hi guys

im quite new to the forum, and really need help with my golf.
Ive had my golf gt tdi 150 (ARL) off the road for two months and while it was off
I've changed the three common boost pipes with forge silicone hoses. I've put the car back on the road today and i have no boost and its very juddery and alot more smoke than normal.
I've checked the pipes and they dont seam to be losing any air.
Any ideas anyway please

Welcome

Silly question but did you put the seals on the Forge pipes (green o-rings) as Forge dont supply the pipes with new seals.......

i didnt get any o rings just the silicone hoses, couplings and jubilee clips.
it was this kit if that helps http://forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=260302&product=FMKTPD150

Thats your problem. You need new orings to put on the couplers

Have a look at your old pipes  in the short term you can use them but its best to buy new ones from the dealers

It does state you need to use the orings from the original pipes but for the price you pay you'd think they would include them

Just be lucky you can buy pipes. I bought my set for my 170 and now they no longer make them  :lipsrsealed:
