same power to weight ratio as a fiesta st  :shocked:

Yes but let's face it. It destroys the Fiesta ST in every possible way.
Current - MK7 Golf GTI - Tornado Red, 5 Door, DSG, Performance Pack, Dynamic Chasis Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Discover Navigation, Dynaudio.

On Order - MK7 Golf R - Pearlescent Black, 3 Door, DSG, Vienna Leather, Discover Nav Pro, Rear View Camera, High Beam Assist, Keyless Entry, Dynaudio (Tech Pack)

All gone.

Now;

MK7 Golf R - Lapiz Blue, 5 Door, DSG, Carbon Nappa, Discover Nav Pro.

Yes it was definitely the pp version - I saw the gti logos on the calipers. Nice to hear it being called the best all rounder. That's what I'm sure we have all got it for  :smiley:

It could beat the GTI by 10 seconds around a track, but I still wouldn't buy the Fiesta  :laugh:

Very true - except that has never/won't ever happen - and believe me, over the years, there's been plenty of triers!  :wink:

You shouldn't laugh... the new Fiesta ST is a fine car, for the money... fantastic handling, quick enough... I had one for a couple of days and covers ground very quickly. The ride was very stiff though... I'm sure I would have loved it when I was in my 20s  :grin:

Would it beat a Golf GTI round a track... I don't know but it would be close... even if Matchboy was driving the Golf   :tongue:

What you have to remember though is that it is the best part of £10,000 less than a Golf GTI so you might not expect it to be as nice but you should also not expect that a Golf GTI even with a PP will be streets ahead on performance or handling... The Mountune upgrade is only £600 for (+15bhp)

I'm sure it is a great car for the money, not denying that!  And if I was 20 then I'd want one.  But I'm not, which is why I said I wouldn't buy one now :smiley:  As for the track driving comment, I'm not professing to be a Lewis Hamilton, I was referring more to normal road driving on UK roads.  Drivers of Fiesta ST's tend to be younger ie. far less experienced, which is why I've never been "beaten" by any of them trying it on.  :smiley:  Nice little car though if you're a young lad, and good value for money.
