Slow brake fluid leak
« on: 01 December 2013, 10:22 »
So my brake fluid has gone from full to empty in about 2500 miles. Just wondering if you guys have any advice, obvious places it would leak from at this pace?

I'll be doing quite a lot of maintenance over Christmas but it would be good to have an idea before I start.
Cheers.
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

First thing is leaks around the wheels, park up and pump brakes, cardboard under the wheels to help spot leaks.

Flexi pipes, rear pressure regulator (if fitted), master cylinder/bottle seals.

Also note that the master cylinder can leak into the servo so you might not have a visible leak!

check your rear brake callipers around the handbrake mechanism.
