Side light bulb change

As above has anyone changed them i read on an online vw workshop manual you don't need to remove headlight i think this is untrue i can barely get two fingers into the light to touch the sidelight bulb with little access also not being able to see what your doing (as usual) doesn't help

I changed mine for a set of LED ones, had to remove the air box on one side and then used a small pair of pliers to grip and pull it out, it just pops in no turning or anything just a straight pull backwards. On the drivers side there is more room but again reach inside with some pliers (be carefully not to get any wires trapped) give it a little tug and it will pop out no need to remove the lights

That's the reason im on here as well, not had my golf long and learnt loads from being on here... down side tho you see things and it puts ideas in your head expensive ideas lol
