Went to a mate with a garage and borrowed his lift ramp managed to change a inner tie rod, but forgot to buy a new tie rod end.
Mate rings ECP up and they said they will deliver @ 3.30Pm I left the garage @ 5.30 no part delivered, and he buys off them all the time with trade. He rang them up every hour and still no show on the part. I'll go back on Wednesday next week to finish the job off and we managed to stick back the old ball joint end.
Plus one centric washer and bolt from Dodge set me back £15.00  :lipsrsealed:

CP4L is a sister company to ECP. Owned by the same people, supplied by the same companies, stock in the same warehouse, delivered by the same vans etc. The reason why CP4L is cheaper is that they don't have local stores. By being an online company only, thats where they make the saving which is passed onto you. Tbf, I've only ever had one wrong part delivered, and never had a problem with quality of parts or returns either, and I've bought a fair amount from there.

Everytime i buy from ecp its the wrong part or the part dont last. I needed to replace my crank sensor so i rang ecp and asked for the premium part and not budget. Anyway next day i go in and they ordered a sh1tty budget part. I told him mate send it back o was told a bosch or febi part will be in. Went to andrew page which is a few doors away and they ordered me the febi part.
I got some steering rack gaiter from them and they lasted 2 weeks before they tore up and it wasnt an easy job either. Now i got to replace them again. Balls to em

I have just had a 3 month old CV joint fail on me on the Audi. I can't even be arsed to claim back. I gave them all my details as requested over twitter along with transaction number via PM and all they could say is 'sorry, you bought it in store and will have to take it back to there'. Ironically, the reason that I went to ECP was because I had fallen out with GSF over the purchase of the same CV joint

Was it the cheap stuff?

I have a vague rule that if it isn't a decent brand I'll just go dealers and customer will have to pay more or get no guarantee.

Too much hassle with cheap alternators and thermostats.

warrantys don't seem to apply to car parts they allays think of an excuse to f**k you off

EPC  or GSF.  they are best avoided for cv boots, ball joints, wheel bearings, any of the budget stuff.

as for OE quality claims on some of the premium bits thats a load of bollox unless its branded

all the VW's have gone bar 1.

I am interested to read this thread as a new name for vw parts is launching soon!!

(It will sell Febi - Sachs - TRW - Brembo - ATE to name a few.... oh and correctly supplied parts by a "time served" parts person with a passion for good customer service will hopefully be an advantage? )

oh and my trader brother lives 3-4 miles from euro's and they have stopped delivering to him as in Feb 2014 they are opening a more local branch (in relation to his postcode but actually further away from him!).... that's good way to treat traders
