Any idea Graham if they're likely to do anything for the GTD?

I'm sure they will do, perhaps you should give them a bell and volunteer your car for testing/drawing

Not a bad idea that! Any idea how diesels sound with a different exhaust? Never had a diesel before.

I've had a few decent diesels and tbh youre never going to sound like a petrol but you'll get a nice burble on tickover from the back and it won't sound too bad under full throttle. Don't the gtd's come with a sound actuator anyway? Combined with that it probably sounds good. There is also the performance gains as well from a less restrictive system :smiley:

Sound actuator is up for debate. Think there is something in the engine bay but nothing on the exhaust unless you've got a car built after BW45 and with the Exhaust sound package.

Ahh I see. I don't really know how my actuator works but I have two pipes that are behind the center console, they get very hot so I assume it's piping some exhaust through and out to increase noise. Burnt my hand On them running a power cable from the fuse box to the drivers side first day I got it :smiley:

More likely to be coolant pipes to the heater matrix. I somehow doubt any manufacturer would run exhaust pipes (even for some form of sound actuator) through to the interior.

The sound actuator sits behind the bulkhead and is essentially a speaker.   Looks something like this;
