Which sports cat?
« on: 24 November 2013, 01:11 »
Pretty sure my cat is rattling itself to death. Which sports cat would you recommend?

Got to be:

A) CHEAP (I have no more money left to spend on this car)

B) MOT passable.

Thankyou in advance!
I thought Volkswagens were supposed to be reliable?

Yeah, I had the garage diagnose it earlier in the year as beginning to go. It sounds like rattling lego bricks inside the cat/exhaust. Worsens on low/mid throttle.

On my current wage, not really  . I might have to look for a 2nd hand one, or start saving and hope it holds together. My Cam chain tensioner needs replacing too but there no money for that either!

I'd be doing that first

Literally not a penny left for the car. I took a big pay cut to join an apprenticeship for the MoD, it will pay off in a few years and it got me out of my old dead end job. However, now my wages are pretty lousy and I'm just praying the car holds out until my pay rise next year.

Do you know of anybody on here who would know how to do the tensioner job?
