To be honest, if I saw a clean mk3 anywhere, i wouldn't be too bothered what engine's in it!

Vr is the better daily driver, Valver performs better on the track in the bends.

As a daily driver I know what i'd rather have. And as far a track cars go, the mk3 was never a corner eater in any format.

Funny that everybody always says that and yet it has better suspension that a Mk2.

TBF as standard the suspension is sh!te on both.

Yep, mk2 or mk3 neither are particularly good on track out the box compared to other hatches. I'm happy with my vr but sad thats its being picked up on sunday by its new owner but had an offer I couldn't refuse and they aint the best winter cars. My mk2 project will be vr'd soon enough though.

Didn't want to cause a an argument  :grin: just talking from experience from having a go in both, for all round driving the 16v is the best for me
