Love the car and no issues other than intermittent loss of phone connection when dialling/ receiving calls and temperamental door lock with keyless. These are far outweighed by the many positives though.

Finally got my handbrake fixed - switch and sensor replacement. The harsh (sometimes reluctant, especially in reverse) release of the autohold is now gone. Maybe I can learn to like the system if it's working properly now.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Are VW saying this is a recognised fault now then?

Not sure about “recognised” as a common fault, but they certainly had a fix for it. Prior to the fix I had twice had a complete failure of the autohold/handbrake system with all the textual warnings and symbols popping up on the MFD, getting autohold to let go once reverse was engaged was sometimes impossible, requiring autohold to be switched off. A few times the handbrake didn’t wind on when I parked up at home (luckily it is quite flat), and general autohold release was very harsh. All that is gone now. Are you having the same issues? They apparently replaced a sensor and a switch.

Maybe they didn’t have a fix 2 weeks ago when the dealership simply wiped the fault code from the ECU.

Bloody squeal from the rear of the car when the car is reversed off the drive first thing in the morning, normally when its wet and possibly from the rear brake disc although I am not braking at the time. :undecided:

I get this every day, without fail, regardless of the weather.  And its loud

Same here ,have you mentioned it to your dealer? Yours is pretty much the same spec as mine

Mine creates the same squeal in reverse, normally first thing.  But I don't really care.
