At this point nobody seems to know precisely what you get with this option. On the one hand the description refers to sound within the cabin only - whereas Euro spec cars apparantly have a sound generating speaker in the exhaust system taht can be heard outside too.

The concensus is that the GTD has always had the 'Sound Aktor' gizzmo anyway - so there is also a debate about whether its simply this being made in to an optional extra....

If you figure out can you let us know!

Ha ha no - all they can do is read the VW (Germany) releases same as us. I would not think that they even know what a 'Sound Aktor' is - sorry to sound cynical but the level of product knowledge shown by the average VW salesperson is pretty low....

Look at this thread http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=259570.0

I am starting to think that actually what has happened is that teh Sound Aktor was standard up to BW45 and they have simply now made it optional and dressed it up with a fancy description...

I will await news with interest. - My car won't be built until next spring and I am not really bothered if it has any kind of sound generator or not (in fact given the option I would proably say no). My Scirocco has it and its OK to live with but would be nice to disable it (which you cannot do even with VCDS)...
