Newbie from Glasgow Area
« on: 12 November 2013, 08:32 »
Hello All,

I've been lurking in the shadows since I placed my order back in early August for the GTD and thought it was time to say hello  I've been members on forums for all my cars and it really is the best way to get real info from real people.
Ordered it in Tornado Red with the only being the Discover SatNav Pro, there's so much standard on this car that I didn't really need anything else.

It's a company motor, using Lex and have to say their customer service is fantastic, always keeping me up to date with emails and calls because of the horrendous lead time.
Funnily enough though Lex placed the order through Specialist Cars in Aberdeen, my last contact with them confirmed me as BW47, and Lex are telling me it will be with the dealer on 16/12/2013. Fingers crossed!!

Just as a side note, I'm addicted to the "Tracker" I feel I may need professional help, though from August to October it remained at "Processing your Order" and from then it's not moved from "With the Factory" is this normal?

Seen a few Mk7 GTi's & GTD's up and down the M8, my god I'm in love.
I had the choice of a BMW 120Md and a Merc A220 AMG, I think I know I made the right choice!!!!

So called VW Customer Service.
Build Week now pushed back to BW50, so they expect the car will be with dealer mid Jan.
Though they did mention this is all unconfirmed.
The girl on the phone was very apologetic.
This cars been on order since August, is this normal? Tracker still not moved :(

Welcome to the forum pal. I'm from Paisley myself but now living out in Glasgow. I'm often back through as my parents are still in Paisley and I'm a member of the golf club. You will love the car when you get it, well worth the wait

Thank you both for the welcome.
Originally from Carluke, Girlfriend and Daughter forced my hand on that move, however love being so close to town.
Only issue bought living in Paisley is I'll have to park my pride and joy at the side of the road.
My civic's been keyed and had the wing mirror kicked off it a few times.

Step 3 of 7 : Build week confirmed
Production week commencing 08/12/2013

Breath held and fingers crossed.
I'm hoping one morning I'll check and it'll have skipped to "In Transit"

Seen a white Mk7 GTi on the M8 after the airport last weekend.
Had a dreaded Arnold shark sticker at the top of the rear window, please tell me it wasn't you! lol
Took them to court a few years back as my 206 GTi engine blew up while doing 80 on the M8 and they wouldn't honour the warranty, 6 months later I go a written apology and a large cheque

No wasn't me pal although unfortunately I did purchase via Arnold Clark who I'm not a fan of at the best of times. To be fair they have been pretty decent so far.  Sounds like you should have your car middle of January so not too long to wait
