Tank float
« on: 11 November 2013, 06:17 »
My tank pick up pump packed up (tongue twister there). Now I have the unit out is there anyway of improving the float and fuel gauge movement. As it currently is, it works as a benchmark guess, it will stay at a full tank then drop to half in one go, from half it will then drop to 1/4 and there on it seems to work as it should.

I had a problem with mine where my gauge was all over the place with erratic readings. I cured it by removing the float arm at the hinge and cleaning the copper slider contacts at the hinge. Put it back together and the gauge now works. Worth a try and easy to do. I have a spare sender but needs a new lift pump if you want it.

Just got the new lift pump but they gave me to wrong part, not sure when I will be able to get back to swap it. The plastic hose that the pump connects into has got mangled when removing the old pump. The style of clamp they use is ridiculous.
