hi all - my 1988 mk2 16v gti k-jet is turning over but not starting - not even firing - so far I have checked/done
cleaned dizzy cap
checked leads and sparks - all good sparks on test
injectors - fuel is getting to the sparks
air filter intake - cleaned breather hoses
idle stabilization valve - cleaned
most plug connections and earths - checked cleaned
it has a decent battery and starter motor
5th injector check - is spraying
ignition coil is ok and has good earth
the engine is a bit grubby but cleaned all connextions up - tired advancing and retarding the dizzy on turn over still no good
the fuel accumulator has been primed several times also , im getting a good feed of fuel on the injectors so don't think its that
it was running fine - starting from cold would fire then be bit lumpy on idle - if starting second go it would take good 10 seconds then fire
any help or past experience with this one anyone ?
