This actually reminds me of a horrible situation at Honda. Boy was I stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The Honda site had a terrible car park, really close spaces and not many of them.So I'm handing over this brand new CR-V, explaining the controls. Whilst sat in the car, some of my other customers turn up in there 52 plate KA, bag of nails, tons of aesthetic damage, horrible thing. They were coming in to sign some finance docs with me. So they pull up next to us, and the guy (about a 70 year old bloke), opens the door wide open, and hits the brand new CR-V. Honestly, the bang sounder awful! And this is just the start...

So the bloke is completely oblivious to this, shuts his door, locks the car, and starts walking towards the dealership door. Now my customer I'm sat in the car with, jumps out, and starts f-ing and blinding at him (in my opinion, quite rightly so!). To make matters worse, the KA bloke just categorically denied he had done it. At which point, handover customer gets me involved to try and back him up. As I said, rock, hard place, which one to choose?

I was extremely lucky that one of my colleagues was in the car park also, who took my finance customer inside, whilst I stayed with the handover bloke trying to calm him down.

To this day, that had to the be one of the most awkward positions I've ever been in.

Just another example of the "don't give a sh!te" endemic in this country. So many people not bothered about anything but themselves and don't respect anyone or their property. My sisters kids have all been dragged up and display this ethic quite strongly.

The trouble with car insurance as it is now, the slightest bump and a claim can have huge consequences for next years premium. Even with protected no claims, if you have a bump, your insurance will go up. So many reasons for people with no scruples to hit and run/deny if they haven't been caught in the act (and sometimes even if they have).

Having a nice car is such a burden sometimes. I will park the other side of a supermarket car park (and someone will still park next to you even when there are 50-100 spaces they could've been in. I also look for child/baby seats and if all else fails I try to make sure i'm parking next to a car dearer than mine that looks well kept.

Yep. I do exactly the same. Only park next to cars that look like their owners care for them. Only trouble is, you return to find a heap has parked next to you while you were away.

I'm ashamed to say that if a car park is quiet I'll take up two spaces.... I wouldn't do this at busy times though, honest , I'd also look for a space next to a nice car, and on the end of the row if possible. But If I know it's going to be really busy I take our old car

I parked at the end of a row in the Metrocentre yesterday, someone else was also thinking of their car's safety and parked directly in front of me, also at the end of the row. It was an Audi R8 convertible.

you need to be careful getting repairs on paint done as in the future somewhere down the line if you have a paint problem VW will refuse to help. that's why I took mine to the vw approved bodyshop as I now have the paperwork if anything happens with  paintwork issues.

I went to the local asda yesterday, was reluctant to park too close to tele entrance but the mrs timely reminded me that it was freezing and the little one was sleeping so she demanded we park closer. I managed to get a space at as close to the entrance but away from all the clutter. Upon locking I told the mrs I have a feeling someone will dink my door.

To cut a long story short. Get home empty the car go out to get the baby out and lock up as I open the rear door I see shining in the light a dent smaller than a 5p coin. No paint chip just a dent.

Not bloody impressed and it's at the height that a door was responsible. I only washed the Car on sat and it surely wasn't there. Only good thing is it's only visible from really close up. I was livid yesterday spouting on about a lack of respect and all that is wrong with the society. Now it's on to looking for a dent repair guy. Not impressed.

I just a paintless dent repair on my mito's bonnet..nobody fault in this case as it was a branch that blew off a tree during the big winds recently. the guy did an amazing job as it was a really nasty dent, small but quite sharp. And right on the sculpted bonnet line.

the one thing I find though is people are generally bone idle...so I just park at the farthest point away from the store doors in car parks. The only other cars there are usually like minded people.

probably very easy to fix as it was on the bonnet but couldn't be done on my wheel arch stone dent.
