mk2 gti digi misfiring
« on: 06 November 2013, 18:49 »
So heres the story, i jetwashed my engine bay yesterday (ok so some think its stupid, i've had no problem before), it misfired a tad after, left it a few hours then fired up and ran ok. A few hours later i went out, under full throttle it was ok then got quarter of a mile and it died in heavy traffic.
I believe i have an ignition problem as it would turn over and occasionally produce a few loud bangs out the exhaust due to unburnt fuel. Today I've dried out the bay in front of the huge heater at work and sprayed bce around every electrical plug and ignition related part with no change.
I'm expecting it to be coil, leads or plugs as the dizzy cap and rotor are like new. Which would you guys put your money on?
