Navigation updates for November

Anyone had any luck downloading the single big file and extracting it successfully?

I've downloaded it twice now and both times it has the same Data Error, broken/corrupted files in the archive when extracted with 7zip or WinRAR.

The broken files are for France North East and North West (Total 16) and Italy South (Total 2). I cancelled the extract about 80% in so this may not be all of them.

Didn't have this problem with the July update.

Have updated Discover media with 2014 map updates and everything ok except no road names shown on map display, just blank white or black boxes.  Road names shown on instrument display and heard on spoken instuctions.  Any ideas?

How many times can you update the system? Im sure GeorgeK said 6 times in three years but how do VW know that you have downloaded the software?

I heard this as well...but how would they know?

Easy - they release it twice a year, and for the next three years .....

yes but how do they know it's me downloading the update and what time I bought the car. then when new owners cone along in a years time they get three years free updates. they can't tell who is downloading what and when.

Exactly!! (I cannot believe I am agreeing with someone from Sunderland  )

If they have been really clever they will have implemented this in the firmware of the head unit, so it won't install updates after 3 years of operation.
