Xenon retrofit.
« on: 04 November 2013, 22:23 »
Hi guys,
Been a long time lurker on here and decide to register to gather some help on a problem I have atm.  I have a 10my GTI which I carried out a led DRL xenon retrofit a month ago.  I gathered the new headlights, kufatec leads and highline CEM.  Once fitted I turned the lights on to find the shutter working but the DRL's not working.  At this point I had no warning lights or problems bar the two keys needed coaded and the DRL's activated. I then took it to work where we changed the coading to suit the new cem, after this we had a few problems, being the dash lights now not working, the bulb monitoring light being on and the car showing a fault (check left and right main beam)
I am in a pickle with this one, I could change back to my old coading, but would that be advisable with the LEDs not working prior to that?
Anyone any experience with this conundrum at all?

Any help appreciated.

Dean

The high beam fault is fixed by setting BYTE 17 Bit 2, as you don't have the centre high beams any more.
What is your long coding set to at the moment and I will compare it with mine.

When I did the retrofit I had a similar problem and copied the coding from another forum member with a couple of minor changes as the LEDs would not light on mine.
